Yesterday LG Electronics (LG) was busy releasing announcement after announcement. One of the best news they had for us was regarding the LG G Watch. For everyone who still isn’t sure what the G Watch is, the device is basically LG’s version of the smartwatch. LG is one of the first to market the wearable running on Android Wear.
The South Korean typhoon has made the smartwatch available all over the world via Google Play Store and through selected key retailers. The LG G Watch is one of the first of its device to have a button free design with a display that remains on at all times for users’ convenience and usage.
The LG G Watch is compatible with smartphones running Android 4.3 or higher with the Android Wear app available at the Google Play Store. It also has accurate voice recognition and is powered by a 400mAh battery, one of the largest in the smartwatch line. Users can in addition, exchange straps with any standard 22mm watch band.
The LG G Watch will be available both online and offline in twelve countries: United States, Canada, France, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Australia, India, Japan and South Korea. In fifteen other countries, among which include Brazil, Mexico, Russia, Singapore and New Zealand, the LG G Watch will be available at retailers. Prices will be announced locally in each market.
The device runs on a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and has a 1.65 inch LCD display. It is equipped with 4 GB eMMC and 512 MB RAM. Along with being dust and water resistant, the smartwatch has Bluetooth 4.0 and comes in the colors of white gold or black titan.
