And flip phones live on! LG has released its first very flip smartphone since 2007, the LG Wine Smart has made its debut.
We thought flip phones were long gone with a few companies trying to keep it alive along side Apple’s flat sleek body of phones. Samsung continues to churn out one or two flip smartphones a year but none that really caught our eye. This is however, LG’s first attempt at making a smartphone in this form.
The LG Wine Smart is designed for mid range market and caters especially to the older generation. The phone sports a 3.5 inch LCD with a resolution of 480×320. It runs on 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU mated with 1 GB worth of RAM and 4 GB internal storage that can be expanded via microSD card. It in addition, is equipped with an 8 megapixel back camera and a VGA front shooter. Powering it is a 1700 mAh removable battery.
Especially for the older market, you have features such as “Safe Keeper” which automatically send out an emergency notification with necessary information such as the Wine Smart’s location. And to give it the right balance of youth, Kakao Talk is pre-installed cause these days, everybody knows hows to use instant messengers!
