Lenovo seems to be stepping up its game with its new Android tablet, the Tab s8. This is the first product from the Chinese tech company to be equipped with an Intel processor.
Previously, Lenovo relied on MediaTek to power its gadgets but this time around, the company has opted for an Intel Atom Z3745, a quad-core chip that runs at 1.33 GHz. The chip can be pushed to 1.86 GHz in burst mode. This just shows that Lenovo might be ready to finally be some sort of a competition to other tech corporations in the industry.
The Tab s8 features 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB data storage. The device sports an 8 inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. Expect a clearer view of the screen this time around as the gadget employs Lenovo’s One Glass Solution, which eliminates the gap between the touchscreen and the display. The tablet is equipped with a 1.6 megapixel camera on the front and 8 megapixels rear camera with an aperture of f2.2. In addition, the Tab s8 is completed with dual Dolby-enhanced speakers on the front. The gadget runs on Android 4.4 and weighs 295 g. It seems to be one of the slimmest tablets out there measuring a very thin 7.87 mm.
The Lenovo Tab s8 is set to launch this month and with better specs, come a higher price tag. It cost $199 (RM 650) which isn’t that bad compared to other alternatives in the industry. There might even be a 4G connectivity in addition to WiFi variant but no news has been released about this model.
