Lazada has become one of the foremost online shopping platforms across the Southeast Asian region with a presence in nearly every country. Earlier this year, China’s leading online shopping platform, Alibaba, bought a controlling 83% of the shares in Lazada. The company’s presence has definitely been felt with the increase in Lazada’s offerings from TaoBao. That said, it doesn’t look like the anything is changing soon.
Avid online shoppers will be no stranger to the annual Online Revolution. Lazada has made a name for itself over the past five years with their Online Revolution sales. The company has noted an over 80% increase of transactions over the course of the sales in the same period. In the same span, Lazada has increased the number of products from a mere 30 thousand to a whopping 90 million products offered. This has led to the adoption of new, more efficient processes and state of the art technology to provide a more fluid and reliable customer experience.
This year, the Online Revolution takes an astronomical scale with an offering of over 90 million products. These products will be offered through their “Deals as Low as RM1”, Flash Sales and a new Mystery Box offers. The Mystery Box offer will allow users to purchase a surprise from participating brands such as Nivea, Durex, Maybelline, Mattel and Laneige. In addition to physical products, Lazada’s Online Revolution will also feature digital goods which include Lazada eVouchers, Petronas Gift Cards and even travel packages.
This year, Lazada’s Online Revolution will kick off on singles day (11.11) and end on 12.12. The sales will start on the 11th of November with both RM1 deals as well as flash sales which will continue for the whole month until the 12th of December. In addition to these sales, the company is also giving away prizes worth a total of RM60 million. This includes an all expense paid trip to Maldives, a perodua Bezza and a chance to experience Zero gravity in the U.S.. There will be 2 bonus days which extends the sale until 14th December.
