Malaysia’s top eCommerce site, Lazada just launched their new LAZADASTYLE campaign. The LAZADASTYLE is the homegrown eCommerce giant’s initiative to grow the local fashion retail market. Within that initiative are three elements – LazAdaStyle Fashion Reality TV show, LAZADASTYLE Shopping Channel and LAZADASTYLE Pop-up stores. Yes, we know how this looks. But bear with us as we talk about this for a little bit. The LAZADASTYLE campaign is a part of a Riang Raya campaign that is going to happen from the 1st of June to 4th of June this year. The campaign will focus on the Hari Raya celebration that is coming up very soon.
Thing is we are not interested in fashion either. So why are we doing this, I hear you ask? The tech behind it of course!
Have you gone to stores and looked at their stuff and thought; “if only I could scan the tags on this display and just complete my purchase online”. Or, have you seen that cool Amazon supermarket idea? The idea is to just look at that really nice coat you have been eyeing for, try it out, and then search for the best deals without even leaving the store. Then after that you can just buy it while standing there but you do not have to carry anything home with you.
That becomes a reality now with LAZADASTYLE Pop-up stores. The concept here is simple. You walk up to the pop up store, browse through the swath of shirts, blouses, shoes, dress, and whatever garments there is and find the ones you like. Once you found what you like you can pick them up to try them and see if they fit your style in their makeshift fitting room (which is still proper anyway). To buy it, there is a QR code on the tag of the garment that you can scan. Of course you have to scan the QR code via the Lazada app. But scanning the code takes you to the official product page and you can complete your purchase there. Once you buy it you can continue browsing or just walk off the store without carrying any hefty bag, meaning you still can do more shopping and carry all the important stuff like your groceries and what not.
Right now the pop-up store is happening in Citta Mall (25th May – 27th May, 2018) and will pop by Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus on the 30th May onward. The QR code scanner is available via Lazada’s mobile app (top left corner, beside the search bar), which is available for free on Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store. The Riang Raya promotions will happen on their eCommerce platform from the 1st of June until 4th June, 2018 and will feature up to 90% discounts from brands like ASUS, HP, Samsung, Xiaomi and plenty more.
