So, we heard about Apple confirming a press event on the 9th of September. That’s exactly a week away!
Then, what is this we hear about the iPhone 6’s production hitting a snag? According to report by Reuters, the company has changed a part of the device last minute as production issues arise. Sources in the supply chain say that “display panel production suffered a setback after the backlight that helps illuminate the screen had to be revised, putting screen assembly on hold for part of June and July.”It seems that the company had a sudden realization that the backlight in the display setup it had constructed wasn’t bright enough for its standards. The Cupertino company halted production just to make tweaks here and there.
With the last minute change however, production dates should be made. According to analyst JP Morgan, “This sounds like a typical late-in-the-game supply chain story that turns out to have no impact on launch dates or devices sales.” Hopefully, his words reign true and there is no impact on the iPhone 6 sales due to the halt and changes.
With the numerous issues and delays constantly surfacing, we are left to wonder what would be launched next week! Are we just going to see the smaller 4.7 inch variant of the iPhone 6? Is there going to be an iWatch or will that be left for a later date? Well, seven days and counting is all we can say!
