The image above is alleged to be the images of the final product for the rear shell of the Apple iPhone 6. Unlike previous leaks, this video below shows the Apple logo embedded in it and indeed it really does look like a near to a complete product. However, it is missing the usual Apple ‘iPhone’ stamp on the lower back end of the casing. Also, information such as “Designed by Apple in California. Assembled in China is non existent but may come later once the FCC stamp is included onto the shell. We’re seeing circular flash module and antenna breaks that seem quite similar to dummy units we’ve seen before. Have a look for yourself at the video courtesy of iCrackUrDevice!
Another debate that has been going on with much intensity are the launch dates of the Apple iPhone 6 variants. Some say December, some say September, some say October. Some sources are stating that the 4.7 inch variant will be launched in September without any sapphire glass display. As for the 5.5 inch variant, this source goes on to state this larger version will only be launched in December. Why the late launch? Maybe it is to line itself with the iWatch launch. Kind of weird since Apple has never launched anything in December, it is a very rare phenomenon if the company chooses this route. And if this is the reason, why not just launch the bigger variant with the iPads in October?
However, according to reports by MacRumors, the iPhone 6 launch will take place on Tuesday, October 14 as the month itself will be an incredibly busy one for the company. Apple is also said to planning a media event for Tuesday, September 16, coming a month ahead of the device’s launch. A report last week claimed that Apple is planning a mid-September event for the iPhone 6 and iOS 8, which would be followed by an October event showcasing the iWatch, OS X Yosemite, new iPads, and new Macs. An announcement event for September 16 would also fall on a Tuesday, which is when Apple typically announces new products. It is still unconfirmed if the October launch will be for both the variants or just the smaller of the two since rumors have been flying around about production issues with the larger one.
All in all, we can only can confirm… nothing. Apple has been silent all this while and even though, there may be trends in the past that point at a certain date, nothing is for sure. We are hoping that either some dates are officially announced or Apple releases a statement giving us some sort of hint!
