For all those of you who purchased your iPhone 5 from September 2012 and January 2013, this post will be crucial to you!
Apple has launched a battery replacement program for all those who unfortunately, were given faulty batteries for the iPhone 5. The replacement is completely free. If you are eligible for it, you can head on down to a participating Apple Authorized Service Provider in Malaysia to have it replaced.
So how do you find out if your iPhone 5 meet the requirements? You will have to visit this link https://ssl.apple.com/my/support/iphone5-battery/ and choose Malaysia as your country. Then, search for your iPhone 5’s serial number and key it in. This should allow you to find out if you’re eligible. The program kicks off on 29 August 2014 and will only be available in participating Apple Authorized Service Providers.
Not to worry, only a small percentage of users were affected by this slip up by Apple. The device should suddenly experience shorter battery life or need to be charged more often if you’re one of those affected. However if you are experiencing this, back up the device first and turn off Find my iPhone. This may solve the problem.
