Last week at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, the announcement for support for system-wide third party keyboards was made. A good amount of well known keyboard developers expressed their intention to support iOS. Today, TouchPal has uploaded a video demonstrating their keyboard running on iOS 8 as seen above.
The video demonstrates TouchPal’s version of the keyboard supporting a sliding input which is almost the same as Swype. Although autocorrect and word prediction was not shown in the video, the TouchPal keyboard does in fact have these features.
Flesky was the first to share with the public via image of their keyboard running on iOS 8. This just goes to show that keyboard developers are swiftly catching up to support the iOS 8 even though iOS 8’s public release has yet to arrive. There are of course, some developers that have been already working with the iOS system before this such as Flesky’s developer tools.
It won’t be a surprise to see many if not all, jump on the iOS boat before it’s too late and everyone else in already up to date.
