Images of Galaxy Alpha Inspired SM-A500
Rumours have been surfacing of a new line of devices coming from Korean manufacturer Samsung following the release of the new Galaxy Alpha device. The Galaxy Alpha marks Samsung’s departure from using plastic in the frame of its devices which Samsung has done since the first Galaxy device.
Today, after getting leaks of benchmarks of the new A series, we get our first pictures of the upcoming SM-A500. It comes as no surprise that the SM-A500 looks nearly exactly like the Galaxy Alpha except that the device lacks the heart rate monitor on the back.
A little recap of the specification coming with the SM-A500. The metal framed SM-A500 will be equipped with a 5.0-inch 720p HD Super AMOLED display. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 with 16GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM. It will come with a 13-MegaPixel camera and a 5-MegaPixel front facing camera both of which support 1080p Full HD video recording. The device is slated to launch with an updated version of Samsung’s TouchWiz ladden Android 4.4 KitKat which is debuting with the Note 4.
The SM-A500 is first device to pass through the certification process in China with no leaks of the SM-A300 and SM-A700 yet to be seen. The SM-A500 looks to be the middle specced of the three devices in this new Galaxy Alpha inspired A-series of devices.
