HUAWEI Ups Their Selfie Game With Nova 3e
Self-portraits, or “selfies” as an average millennial calls it is a thing now. It became one of the most important things that a person look for in a smartphone in the past five years or so. That said, the single most developed hardware in a smartphone is not its processing chip, or its GPU, or the display, or even the battery. The one part that is nearly over-engineered in modern smartphones is its camera.
If you have not realised yet, it has been the feature that is always singled out in modern smartphones; the camera modules. With the advent of the selfie generation the front camera now gets more attention than ever. Plenty of the major manufacturers have jumped on that boat, including HUAWEI. Welcome to the HUAWEI Nova 3e.
The HUAWEI Nova 3e is some sort of spiritual successor to the HUAWEI P10 Lite. It is technically a HUAWEI P20 Lite if you look for it in Europe anyway. The HUAWEI P series is their premium flagship series though and the Nova 3e, does not quite make it. It is however still a solid device that replaces the older HUAWEI Nova 2 device.
Starting with the most important feature of the device; the camera up front is a 24-megapixel shooter to ensure highly detailed and clear self-portraits. Out the back is a dual-camera set up that pairs a 16-megapixel sensor and 2-megapixel sensor to produced beautiful “bokeh”shots. The selfie camera though has a little trick up its sleeve. Its software maps 96 points on your face to create the perfect selfie anytime, every time.
The perfect selfie is displayed on the 5.84-inch Fullview Display 2.0 that punches at Full HD+ resolution with 2,280 by 1,080 pixels. The 19:9 screen ratio with the top “notch” is a nod to its bigger brother, the HUAWEI P20 (it is technically a P20 Lite after all). The brilliant display is protected by a 2.5D glass that also wraps the back of the device separated, and joined only by the aluminium frames.
Underneath all that beautiful glass, display, and cameras is a Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC with a Mali T-830 MP2 GPU paired to a 4GB RAM for smooth and snappy operations. The SoC and GPU also means that it should run most games smoothly. Obviously it will not run PUBG Mobile on high settings. You get 128GB of storage space in the device to store all those high-resolution perfect selfies. That sort of storage is also more than plenty of other flagship devices in the current market.
All that powers the Android 8.0 with EMUI 8.0 operating system in the device. To keep it running the entire day and more is a fast charge capable 3,000mAh battery.
The HUAWEI Nova 3e is available nationwide 25th May, 2018 onward via any of HUAWEI’s authorised distributors and dealers. Of course you will find the device in HUAWEI’s very own Experience Stores as well. Colours available for the device are Midnight Black and Klein Blue.
The HUAWEI Nova 3e retails for MYR1,399 (with GST). Due to the GST condition now though HUAWEI is running an MYR79 cash back promotion until 31st of May, 2018l; which also means that you can get your hands on the device at MYR1,320 at launch until the end of the month. For every purchase also HUAWEI will be giving a complimentary HUAWEI Tripod selfie stick that is worth MYR68, while stocks lasts.
