Previously, we have reported that Huawei has announced many releases of new smartphone lineups. This includes the launch of Ascend 7, Ascend Y550, Ascend GX1, Ascend Mate 7, and many more. The rise of Huawei as a brand has been credited by following Xiaomi’s online marketing strategy with their Huawei Honor. With Huawei releasing budget friendly smart phones alongside Xiaomi and Lenovo, Huawei is now considered one of the most successful smartphone manufacturers.
Huawei’s usage of brand naming such as Ascend and Honor has been a trademark for Huawei’s phones for several years. As examples, Huawei’s launches of phones with the tagged brand names are as mentioned in the previous paragraph. It seems fair that it is assumed they will be following their own trend of having a tagged brand name, with releases being tagged as one of the Ascend line up or Honor line up.
However, it is now reported that Huawei’s next line up of smartphones will not continue to have the signature tagged name brand. This means that upcoming releases will not have the name of Ascend, Mate, or Honor included in their product name. They will then just have the letter-number combination for their smartphones such as the GX2 or P9.
Huawei is expected to use this new way of naming their smartphones in the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2015 (MCW2015). Until then, watch this space for more updates for you Huawei fans out there.
