There has been much hype about HTC releasing a Prime version to the HTC One M8 with leaks from various sources including EVLeaks. However, new information has surfaced regarding the mysterious device.
According to 9to5Google, HTC will be releasing two versions of the One M8 – the Plus and the Advance editions. And one of the names belong to flagship M8 smartphone.
It seems to be a very busy year for the Taiwanese company who have already announced that it will be launching HTC One M8 Ace ‘Vogue Edition’ soon. Going back to the rumours, the Prime version of the HTC One M8 will most probably be the Plus edition. However, specs that have previously been leaked about Prime do not add up with the specs that have now been learned. One thing we do know is that the device will be made from metal like the original M8 but the Plus edition is said to carry a water resistance certification.
Sources have reportedly informed 9to5Google that the Plus will feature a single 13 megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization instead of the previously leaked reports of a duo camera setup. Along with this, the Plus will feature a 2K display with the highest pixel count to date which makes that a 2560 x 1440 resolution as well as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 processor and 3GB of RAM.
The second device we’re hearing about is the Advance edition of One M8. It will have the same specs as the Plus edition. The only distinct difference is that it will be housed in plastic instead and be aimed at the Asian markets. Price ranges are still unknown for either device but both will be produced in multiple colours, giving users a variety. Launch dates are unknown but rumour has it that the devices will make their debuts at the same time. It was made clear by sources that the devices will be launched before Apple’s iPhone 6, a smart move by the Taiwanese.
Many details have been released that contradict each other. With the amount of whispers and leaks going around, we can’t confirm anything a hundred percent. So keep an open mind and stay tuned with us as we post more updates on the devices when we can!
