A little while back we covered a little news over in China about an alleged HTC One M8 Eye that is supposed to be similar to the current outgoing HTC One M8 with a different camera module here. We also talked about the HTC Eye here which led us to the leaks of the HTC RE Camera as well, here. This time we are getting some juice from China. Strange coming from a nation that emphasises on Cyber security and building a huge wall around it no? Anyway the recent HTC One M8 Eye news came from China as well. That was rumours, this is actually a confirmed news as the One M8 Eye passes through China’s electronic devices governing body, TENAA under the codename HTC M8Ew. The “w” in the name indicates WCDMA network capabilities boasted in China.
We did not have official images of the device back then but thanks to TENAA, we do. From the images also we can tell that it is really actually just an HTC One M8 device in skin with a different camera which in anyone’s eyes look the same too. And as we already know they will sport a 13-Megapixel camera replacing the outgoing 4-Megapixel UltraPixel camera which was proven to be inadequate. Believe me we are actually pretty excited for the device to reach the South East Asian shores. We know that the HTC One M8 is a great device save for some quirks, especially the camera. We think replacing the camera will fix its popularity and usability issue, but would it really? Well, let’s find out.
