HTC made Nexus Tablet Set to Release Early
Rumours of a metal bodied HTC made Nexus tablet with the codenames Flounder and Volantis have been churning out of the rumour mill over the past few months and they have begun to heat up.
The latest news we have on the Nexus tablet is that the device is set to get an official keyboard case. It looks like HTC and Google are looking to make this tablet a more productive tablet than the previous Nexus 10 and Nexus 7. The case resembles a folio case in that it looks like the case covers both front and back of the tablet. The back side of this tablet will fold into a triangle allowing the user to stand the tablet while the front portion will contain the keyboard. The Nexus keyboard/folio case is alleged to be connection via Bluetooth with Near Field Communications (NFC) for easy pairing. What’s more, the accessory will be coming with its own 450 mAh battery. It measures 228 X 320 X 5 mm with keys raising to only 3mm. These dimensions support the theory that the HTC made Nexus Tablet will measuring in at 9-inches with a 3:4 aspect ratio.
In addition to this we have rumours that the HTC Nexus tablet will be launching early October, specifically October 9th. This information comes from @upleaks. If previous years are anything to go by, this would also mean that Google would be launching both Android Lemon Meringue Pie and the Nexus Tablet together. This rumour seems to be supported by WiFi certification which identifies an HTC made tablet under the codename Flounder which points to a Google Nexus device if previous fish related codenames are anything to go by.
A little recap on the expected specifications of the upcoming Nexus Tablet just to round things off. The HTC made Nexus is supposed to come with a 64-bit NVIDIA Tegra K1 with 2GB of RAMwith an 8.9-inch display with 2048 X 1440 pixels resolution with 16GB and 32GB storage and an 8-MegaPixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization.
