HTC Introduces One M8s To Replace Current Gen
After about a year’s release of the HTC One M8 flagship. HTC is reported to ease the flagship out of the market. It’s going to take a while to ease them out as they have a lot of units left. A way to tackle this issue: sell HTC One M8 replacements in the One M8s. Most of the hardwares are the same. The difference? They will be packed with newer processors that are slightly slower.
HTC’s Benelux from Europe seems to have confirmed that the HTC One M8s will carry 64-bit enabled octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 instead of the previously older but more premium Snapdragon 801. The newer processor consist of 8 cores in big.LITTLE architecture layout, with four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.7Ghz and another four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.0Ghz.
There’s not much of a change, but the 64-bit enabled newer chipset will deliver better performance. However, the proc speeds will still dictate the performance of the device. Even though they claim it’s slower, we doubt if it will be noticeable in performance..
Other than the chipsets, you’ll still get the same premium materials like the older M8. As according to reports, the new HTC One M9 will be around US$840 (MYR3,090). The HTC One M8 will probably go for US$560 (MYR2060).
