HTC just announced an event they are holding later this month on the 19th of August (as the title suggests). There are no specifics regarding the event from HTC themselves though which left us wondering why they are having this event at all. So far the most popular leaks on HTC’s side is regarding their upcoming Nexus tablet but then again Google would have to be brought in for the event if it was about the Nexus program in the first place. Moreover it is not September or October yet, so no chance to see the Google tablet making its debut or announcement here.
The only thing that makes sense for Android’s new device from HTC in this event then would be something to cater for Android Wear. There are already rumours going around regarding HTC wanting to make an Android Wear device to complement its line up of Android Smartphones. Best guess about what it is called would be something like the HTC One Wear or HTC One Watch, and we are not the only ones with this.
But because HTC is not an Android exclusive brand or it doesn’t produce Android devices solely it could entirely have nothing to do with Android in the first place. In which it will have something to do with Microsoft. There have been rumours running around also that HTC would be releasing a Windows Phone 8.1 version of the HTC One M8 which is plainly called HTC One M8 with Windows; sounds like the older PCs that has the ‘Intel Inside’ moniker.
The event could swing both ways or none at all. For all you know HTC probably would just be announcing a whole new product under their development in the event anyway. Whatever is being announced or happens on the event though will still be covered by us so look out for the coverage in this space.
