What do you do when you want a flagship specced smartphone but will not pay the ridiculous asking prices of flagships today? You look to China of course (no offense, but China does make really affordable things). Yes, there is that premium brand that is the Huawei that makes premium devices with equally premium pricing. But Huawei is not the only brand in China is it?
No, it is not. Huawei has a sister brand, Honor making more affordable devices, even flagships. Today they launched another flagship device at the price of MYR1,699. Sounds impossible? To be honest, it sounds a little far-fetched even to us. A flagship at the price of an entry-level mid-range smartphone.
The Honor 10 then, is it really in the flagship class on paper?
It packs a Huwei HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC with quad-cores as a processor. You can find the Kirin 970 chip on Huawei’s latest flagship, the P20 Pro too. So it does pack enough power to kick plenty of its competitions out of the water – the flagship power. It also has 4GB of RAM to keep the device running as smooth and as snappy as it can be in any loads. 4GB is also the RAM size you can expect out of most flagships today. In addition it has 128GB of storage space which is more than plenty of its competition. So it does look like it packs that flagship power and speed.
Outside, the device is covered in 2.5D glass out the back and front of the device; the trait and look of a modern flagship smartphone. The display underneath the sleek glass is a Fullview 2.0 Bezelless one with 2,280 by 1,080 pixels pushed into your eyes. The Full HD+ display measures at 5.84-inch, a pretty standard flagship size; in fact a little larger than its competition. True to plenty of flagships also you get that annoying, amazing top “notch”. It also runs Google’s latest Android 8.1.0 Oreo with EMUI 8.1 on top.
The best feature? Its camera. 40-megapixels (f/1.8) of combined camera sensors above the fingerprint sensors out the back of the device. The 16-megapixel plus 24-megapixel cameras is powered by Honor’s Honest AI as well to make photos look even better than a normal Bokeh photo. Out the front, within that notch is a 24-megapixel camera that is more powerful than any other flagships of its class; even your wrinkles cannot escape the photo this time.
Underneath all that powerful hardware that pushes this into top flagship category is a 3,400mAh to keep it running the whole day. With the Kirin 970’s built-in AI as well the Honor 10’s battery life can be extended.
The Honor 10 is available 24th May, 2018 onward at the price of MYR1,699; not a flagship price. If you are the person we just described in the first paragraph, this is your solution. From the 24th May to 31st May as well Honor is giving an MYR100 cashback for any purchase of the Honor 10. The flagship will be on exclusive offer from hihonor.com/my and Shopee with a free original flip cover and bluetooth headset. The Honor 10 is also availble via 40 of Honor’s official stores nationwide and exclusively on SenQ with a free flip cover for every purchase. The Honor 10 is available in Midnight Black, Glacier Grey, and Phantom Blue colour options in Malaysia.
