If you think about it businesses these days are built on service more than anything else. The modern economy, in that sense is defined by services and its customers’ experiences while dealing with them. In that sense as well every customer’s journey should be tailored to their own preferences and characters. That is also why apps are all the rage for businesses. The birth of the modern smartphones are of course a small contributing factor to the rise of application based customer services and how much businesses actually rely on them. It was more than that though; it was the extremely personal experience we have with our mobile phones. We work on it, we communicate on it, we play on it and with it, we consume media on it, we buy things on it; we live on and in it. So it only makes sense if we can fully live and rely on it with our ever busier schedules. Here is where concierge applications comes in; here is where honestbee slots itself in.
honestbee was launched in Singapore in July 2015. It provided Singaporeans the convenience of getting their purchased groceries, parcels, and documents to their doorsteps fuss-free. Their on-demand service sets them apart from other postal services as well with their fast, nearly immediate delivery times. The only thing that could beat them, in some weird sense could be a teleporter; which does not exist just yet. Since its launch honestbee is already established in eight different cities including Hong Kong, Taipei, and now Kuala Lumpur with more than 112 partners worldwide.
Of course, honestbee is not the only online concierge service available in any of the regions it functions in. But this online concierge is different; instead of focusing on making deliveries of parcels, food, or groceries honestbee sets itself apart by offering unique services and solutions to each city that it operates in. One prime example is honestbee Taipei where they expand on garbage collection services. That said, the Singaporean outfit’s philosophy focuses on making life easier for its users, making it more convenient and effortless to get things done.
Earlier this year the Singaporean startup enters the Malaysia market with an array of limited services catering to businesses and end-users like you and me alike. For businesses honestbee provide the usual parcel and document delivery services that it is also known for in other markets. For the plain Jane and John the online concierge offers grocery deliveries. You can shop from places like the Hero market, and Ben’s Independent Grocer (B.I.G.) just to name a few, and get your fresh groceries delivered to your doorstep within the hour. You can even do that while you are tending to work which also means you do not have to spend an extra hour just to get out of the office or the house. The best part about honestbee, other than being able to shop for any groceries from any nearby partnering supermarket is that you are still entitled to any sort of promotion that the supermarket offers on any items available in the store. This really allows you to stock up on your
junk food and other fresh goods from your couch.
Recently honestbee expanded its services in Malaysia. Apparently unique to this region, honestbee launched its food delivery service in Klang Valley. Like any of the services that honestbee provides they keep their promise of delivering items as quickly as possible. When it comes to freshly prepared food though there are limitations and the ‘within the hour’ rule may not work as preparation times have to be taken into account. There is the matter of delivery distance too. With food delivery they will only cover deliveries within an 8-10km radius of your chosen area. Some of their more prominent restaurant partners are Plan B, Ben’s General Food Store, Isetan The Japan Store, Botanica + Co, Mikey’s New York Pizza, and Mei by Fat Spoon. Of course the list will keep expanding as the service grows.
Currently honestbee covers more than 50 areas in the Klang Valley including Subang and Petaling Jaya. Considering that they started with only Kuala Lumpur, Bangsar, and Mont Kiara at the beginning of the year; their growth is promising. That is also good news for us, users, we have even more purchase choices and it is only going to get more convenient as their services expand from one scope to the other. They are also going to stick with their famous one-hour delivery policy which is always a plus in our books when it comes to getting our hands on food. Of course honestbee is committed to improve their services all the time and will be expanding to other parts of Malaysia and other regions in the future so that you can access them wherever you are and whenever you need them. Simplifying lives, after all, is their end goal.
The honestbee app is currently available for free on Android’s Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store for free. Users can also access honestbee.my website to place orders for groceries and food. You can find more information on the online concierge on the website as well.
