techENT sat down with Mr. Ramesh Jayaraman of HARMAN Professional Solutions to discuss what’s been happening at HARMAN Professional, what the company does and how it has been fairing over the past few months following the Samsung acquisition.
Profile of Mr Ramesh Jayaraman, Vice President & General Manager of HARMAN Professional Solution Asia Pacific

Ramesh Jayaraman is Vice President and General Manager for HARMAN Professional Solutions in the Asia Pacific region. HARMAN Professional Solutions is the world’s largest manufacturer of professional audio, lighting, video and control solutions.
Ramesh is responsible for driving growth throughout the Asia Pacific region, by leveraging the strength of HARMAN’s iconic brands which include JBL, AKG, Martin, AMX and others. He leads the teams in the HARMAN offices in Singapore, Japan, Korea and Australia as well as the company’s region-wide sales operation that includes partners across Asia Pacific.
His goal is to bring HARMAN closer to its channel partners and end customers, and simultaneously deliver further expansion across Asia Pacific. HARMAN Professional Solutions serves customers in the entertainment and enterprise sectors, providing them with comprehensive integrated systems. These systems are used in a wide variety of industries,including: corporate, education, government, hospitality, large venues, tour sound and lighting, cinema, broadcast, and prosumers.
Ramesh is based in Singapore, at the new HARMAN Professional Solutions Asia Pacific headquarters. This location provides easy access to a global talent pool and close proximity to many of HARMAN’s channel partners and high-profile end-user customers.
Before joining HARMAN,Ramesh served as Managing Director of Asia Pacific and Executive Director at Ariston Thermo Group. Prior to that, he spent 12 years at Tyco/ADT, serving in multiple leadership roles, most recently as Vice President of Tyco Retail Solutions, Asia Pacific and India. Ramesh earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Delhi College of Engineering, and his Mastersof Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Illinois. He is fluent in English, Hindi and Tamil, and also speaks German.
