Google is introducing the Nearby Multiplayer feature to its gaming service, Google Play Games. This comes as an upgrade to the already existing multiplayer mode.
With the update, Google users can now invite other players who are physically nearby or in the vicinity to join multiplayer gaming sessions. The sad part of the news? Well, this upgrade for Google Play Games is only applicable to a handful of apps. Developers are still in the process of adding in the new API to enable this new multiplayer mode and this will of course, take some time.
With the new API, developers are able to create local competitive and cooperative experiences in the gaming world. We’re hoping to see this new upgrade to Google Play Games in our favorite games!
