Google Inc. is one company that has been showing some major growth since its inception. So it does not come much as a surprise then that Google, again posts some increase in revenue this third quarter compared to last year. Revenue for Google in quarter three of 2014 comes in at $16.52 billion (RM54.1 billion). This is an increase of 20 percent compared to last year’s revenue. Despite the increased revenue compared to last year the net profit was reported to decrease to $2.81 billion (RM9.2 billion) compared to $2.97 billion (RM9.73 billion).
The decline in net income comes from the closure of Motorola Mobile and disposing it to Lenovo including all of Motorola Mobile’s assets and liabilities. This leads to a loss of $185 million (RM605.8 million) and contributes to the decline of the net income. Even with the decreased income though the numbers are positive and prove to be encouraging for Google. We can tell that the most expensive brand also will continue growing at this day and age where technology is our lives are gaining more importance. It is also interesting that Google’s Chief Financial Officer says that Google Inc. is “excited about the growth in our advertising and emerging businesses”; we suspect that Google will be looking into more acquisitions to continue expanding their business field through that statement. Indeed then it will be interesting if that much is true.
