Google has been paying much attention to Android Wear and other endeavors. It seems many thought that it has forgotten about Google Glass. But a new patent has surfaced that might just prove otherwise. The patent as seen above might just be evidence that the tech giant is actually working on an upgraded version of Google Glass that might even feature a built in projector.
The patent was filed last year in April and was published about two weeks ago. It illustrates a “head-mounted display including integrated projector.” It seems that according to the patent images, this is a modified version of Google Glass that has the aim of sharing information with those around the user via a built in projector.
This might take the heat of the Google Glass backlash that it caused quite awhile back saying that the device was a huge infringement of personal privacy. By adding this feature, it could turn the device from something threatening someone’s personal space to a tool used for a group activity.
However, as per our usual saying, just because something is patented, does not mean it will ever materialize. Google is currently happy with releasing small updates for Google Glass instead. If however, these is any rumors or news going around about this patent, we will be sure to let you know. This may be something that might just push potential consumers to purchase the Google Glass.
