When the BlackBerry Passport made its debut last month, it was only available in black and we though that was all we were getting – a square black handset. Although, a white variant of the BlackBerry Passport was announced and should be hitting stores next month. However, new images may have just lightened up this device!
New photos seem to show the BlackBerry Passport in a gold variant that might just be hitting stores soon. Sadly though, only the metal parts of the device such as the edges are covered in gold. The rest of the phone is still in the same plain old black colored plastic.
The photos are from Crankberry who received it from an anonymous source. Since the source cannot be verified, we should take the images with a grain of salt. The gold BlackBerry Passport might just be the art work of a third party retailer.
The BlackBerry Passport sports a square 4.5 inch display with 451ppi resolution. It features 32 GB worth of internal storage expandable up to 128 GB via microSD. This is mated with 3 GB of RAM as well as powered by a 3450 battery. The device runs on quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.2GHz and is equipped with a 13 megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization as well as a 2 megapixel front camera.
We’re expecting the gold variant to launch with the white version of the BlackBerry Passport with an official announcement from the company to come prior to the launch. The Passport has been criticized about its out-of-the-box physical shape of the device. Many have been reluctant to buy it but will the availability of the gold variant change their minds? Do let us know in the comment section what do you think the reaction will be to the gold BlackBerry Passport.
