Gmail update to support other services
Google Mail is one of the top used email services in the world. Google has been regularly loping out material design updates for its range of Android apps. This makes Gmail the next in line and also includes the forthcoming version of the Gmail app.
The new UI features has a new teased icon, a rounded avatar, and some classy new animations. However, the biggest and the newest addition is having the feature that supports other email accounts like Yahoo and Outlook. This means that users won’t have to turn to the built-in Android app or a third party client to keep their individual accounts organized.
It is not clear if the next version of Gmail will feature Exchange ActiveSync. This useful feature is usually to synchronize contacts, calender, etc. As this feature is already present in the default Android email app, it’s still good that changes are being made.
The new version of Gmail app is not yet available for download. But the update should appear around the same time as Android Lollipop’s official roll-out which is a few weeks away.
