Garmin VivoSmart Launches in Malaysia
A fitness band known as the Garmin Vivosmart has officially landed in our country, Malaysia. Garmin is a well known Swiss company that is popular for its navigation equipment.
The Vivosmart is the second fitness band from Garmin, the other being the Vivofit. Vivosmart is a fitness band that sports a 1.35 touchscreen OLED display and features a capability known as Time to Move. With this feature, the fitness band will automatically vibrate when it detects that the user has not moved for an hour.
Auto Goal is yet another feature in the Garmin device. Auto Goal sets a daily goal limit which is generated by the device automatically once the fitness band registers a routine or schedule that the user follows.
Vivosmart in addition, has the normal every day features such as displaying notifications from a smartphone. It does have a rechargeable lithium battery powering it which gives it up to a week of life with just one full charge cycle. On top of that, the device is water resistant up to 50 metres and can control the user’s music player. GPS features are sadly, missing from the gadget.
For those who are fans of Garmin, this fitness band is compatible with Garmin Connect which is a platform where users can store and track their fitness statistics. Users can use their computers or the Garmin Connect app to upload the data to the platform.
The wearable is available in black, grey, blue, purple or pink straps. And the straps come in a variety of sizes to suit the user. The Garmin Vivosmart cost MYR 650 (USD$ 186). The variation with the Premium Heart Rate Monitor is priced at MYR 850 (USD$ 243).
