Apple hasn’t given up on its sapphire dreams just yet. It looks like the tech giant has already moved on from the break down with GT Advanced Technologies and is looking now to Foxconn to supply the sapphire glass. Apple is striving to keep its promise of delivering a device with the glass as seen in the entry video is showed the world.
Foxconn is currently building a USD$2.6 billion display factory and till now, we had no idea why the company was building the factory. Nevertheless, Bloomberg is convinced that the factory is built just to cater to Apple’s needs. This deal supposedly goes beyond just producing sapphire to meet iPhone 6 Plus demand.
Can it be that Foxconn will also be playing a part in delivering sapphire for the Apple Watch? Well, this might seem to be true. Why else would you invest billions into making a factory just for one product?
