The concept of having an Android and Windows on a single device is nothing new. The ability to have both in one device is nothing new too nowadays. The only issues about having both Windows and Android at the same time in one device though is having to toggle between them at any given time. While there have been plenty of attempts in making that smooth transition a possibility but most of them, like the DualOS from Intel doesn’t work as well as they, or we hoped they would be.
There is, however hope. A kickstarter project, the Console OS. What is it? It is a startup developing both OS to work together with each other. The startup focuses on making the toggling between the two OS smooth and easy. With that said, you can have the Console OS working on a PC by having an Android 4.4 KitKat installed as a secondary OS or standalone. While it may have the latest and greatest from Android it will not support the Google Play. It will however have its own AppStore while in the mean time they are also working with Amazon to bring their AppStore into Console OS. As of now Console OS is still a concept and would be gaining funds through crowd funding. They also claimed to be working with Intel based PC manufacturers like Lenovo, Dell, and Asus. Now Console OS is aiming to raise $50,000 (RM162,600) and to support the project you can pledge $10 (RM32.50). What do you get with the investment? You get the Console OS for that, and any future upgrades that comes along, for free, for life.
