‘Chromebooks are coming to nine more nations, to improve computing for all generations’ was the first line of the poem announcement on Chrome’s blogspot on Monday.
Previously, the device was only limited to six countries. Now however, Chromebooks will be available in nine additional countries – New Zealand, the Philippines, Norway, Denmark, Mexico, Chile, Belgium, Spain and Italy. The low cost, Web powered laptops will be sold online and in a selected few retail shops that will be announced on the Chromebook website in due time.
Arriving in the coming weeks, the laptops will be varied according to countries. Some of the models available will be the HP Chromebook 14 and Toshiba Chromebook 13.
The laptops will be expected to run on Google features and apps such as Gmail and Google Drive. Most will be accessible offline but some of the features will be Internet dependent making us wary of how well this device will do overall in the long run. Although the computer market is currently suffering, it seems that these devices are here to stay as the web-based laptops are growing in popularity.
