Google has revealed Google Cast for audio. With this, the same technology in Chromecast is brought forward into speakers, A/V receivers and soundbars that is suppose to broadcast any music from iOS, the web and Android.
Google Cast Ready speakers pull content directly from the cloud, so you’ll get the best audio quality and can freely multi-task on your phone, tablet, or laptop, all without straining the battery. These speakers will work with a growing list of apps including Deezer, Google Play Music, iHeartRadio, NPR One, Pandora, Rdio, TuneIn, and many more.
The Google Cast Ready speakers are expected to be in the market by spring this year with brands supporting it by the end of the year. For now, Google Cast is supported by Broadcom and Marvell. LG, Sony and HEOS by Denon will be manufacturing the first batch of speakers.
