Nice Xbox Series S, does it Come in Black? It Only Comes in Carbon Black, and 1TB Storage.

Microsoft launched their latest Xbox devices in 2020 almost alongside Sony’s PlayStation 5. Like the PlayStation 5 series too, there are two types of Xbox that you can get, one packs a physical disc reader while the other does not. They cleverly named them the Series X and Series S, the Series X is the thicker tower that packs a disc reader, while the Series S is the ‘slim’ version of the Xbox without a disc reader.

Obviously, the prices are different too. The Series X, packing a disc reader, larger internal real estate, and probably more efficient cooling, is the more expensive one. The Series S is the budget option of the two and only comes with 500GB of space. No matter, you still get all the power of the latest Xbox in a more compact and affordable body. You just need to buy games digitally and pick and choose what to install in your Xbox. You can even upgrade your 500GB SSD to 1TB SSD if you really want, but it might take some know how to do and you now have an extra 500GB SSD that you might not have a use for. The Xbox Series S also only comes in one colour option, white; boring.

  • XBOX SRS S BEAUTY

While it did not make that much sense buying the Series S before, it might make a whole lot more sense today, after Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase. They just announced the Xbox Series S Carbon Black edition, which will be available alongside the old one in white. While it now looks way cooler in its black guise, it is not just a cosmetic upgrade that we are getting with the new Xbox. You now get the option to buy the budget Xbox in Carbon Black with a 1TB SSD inside the console out-of-the-box too. Of course, it comes with a bump in price too over the regular Xbox Series S, a US$ 50 price bump to be exact to make it now worth US$ 349.99 (MYR 1,617*) for one.

This good news does come with a caveat though. The US$ 349.99 Xbox Series S Carbon Black edition will not be available immediately. It is only available later in the year in September 2023 in global markets. The pre-order has already started for the Carbon Black edition in available markets. Malaysia does not technically support the Xbox officially yet, but we do have the Xbox Game Pass which will also be supported on NVIDIA’s GeForce Now streaming service. More on the Xbox Series S Carbon Black can be found on their website.

Just Say YES! Cloud Gaming Comes to Malaysia with NVIDIA GeForce NOW

Cloud Gaming is becoming more mainstream with the rollout of faster broadband and 5G worldwide. In fact, certain games on platforms like the Nintendo Switch already use this technology to deliver stunning graphics with their limited hardware. However, until now, there has been no option in Malaysia. Yes, one of Malaysia’s telecommunications providers, is looking to change that with their partnership with NVIDIA to bring GeForce NOW to Malaysia.

YES NVIDIA GeForce NOW KA

Gamers can rejoice as their mobile devices from smartphones to tablets become top-of-the-line gaming platforms. GeForce NOW allows gamers to use their mobile devices to play AAA titles by offloading the monster’s share of graphics and processing to Cloud servers. NVIDIA’s latest GPUs power these servers’ technology and provide features like ray tracing for eye-melting graphical quality. In Malaysia, Yes 5G will be home to these servers. The company has commissioned the hardware from NVIDIA to run on their 5G network.

This technology allows all of your devices to become gaming devices. With the GeForce NOW app on the Google Play and App stores, you’ll be playing AAA games available on PC on your smartphones and tablets. That’s not all, Smart TVs can do the same all without the need for a console. You will have access to a plethora of games optimised for GeForce NOW from the Steam, Epic and Ubisoft game stores.

WhatsApp Image 2023 06 12 at 12.39.44 PM

Yes is not only the home to the powerful NVIDIA Grid servers, their network has been proven to be able to support it. In fact, Yes was recently awarded the title of Malaysia’s fastest mobile network by OOKLA and nPerf. The telco is leveraging its network to be the first member of the NVIDIA GeForce NOW Alliance in Malaysia.

GeForce NOW memberships are available exclusively through Yes at cloudgaming.my. Yes is providing GeForce NOW for only RM50 a month or RM500 a year. This plan entails gaming sessions of up to 6-hours of continuous gameplay and access to free games. Additional games can be played by linking your Steam, Epic Games and Ubisoft accounts to GeForce NOW. Linking these platforms will also give you access to the growing number of games that are being optimised for Cloud Gaming.

YES NVIDIA GEFORCE NOW Launch

One of Yes 5G’s catchphrases is “Good things happen when you say YES”. This rings true for the telco’s subscribers. Yes 5G subscribers will get to enjoy a steep 40% discount on the service at RM30 a month or RM300 a year.

So, are you joining the Cloud Gaming revolution?

[Computex 2023] MSI Stealth 16 Mercedes-AMG Motorsport – Still MSI, More AMG

A co-branded electronics product is nothing new. In the case of MSI’s latest collaboration with Mercedes-AMG Motorsport, the motorsport division of the Mercedes-Benz brand, the concept was explored years ago by Acer and even ASUS with luxury brands like Ferrari and Lamborghini. The MSI Stealth 16 Mercedes-AMG Motorsport edition is technically the first product of its kind with the Mercedes-AMG badge though.

MSI’s Stealth 16 is a potent gaming laptop with rather powerful internals. You get Intel’s 13th generation Core i9 (up to) that is paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series GPU for smooth, responsive AAA gaming. You do need that kind of power when the display fitted on this 16-inch platform is a 4K 16:10 OLED panel. To keep everything running optimally, the MSI Cooler Boost 5 system with five heat pipes dissipating heat via dual fans should keep everything breezy and cool.

Of course, the internals have to be as powerful as the heart that lives inside the racer that is the Mercedes-AMG GT2, the official racecar that will borne the MSI branding on track. The exterior of the Stealth 16 Mercedes-AMG Motorsport edition is courtesy of Mercedes-AMG’s know how in material science. It is a magnesium-aluminium alloy chassis that is rigid, durable, yet lightweight; all the hallmarks of a great racecar. To pay homage to Mercedes-AMG, the chassis is finished in Selenite Grey design with AMG’s exclusive Rhombus patterns alongside an Mercedes-AMG Motorsport logo to show that this gaming laptop means business.

Alongside the exclusive design, the limited edition package will include an exclusive box design, for keepsakes, a matching mouse and mouse pad, an exclusively designed USB drive, a carrying pouch for the laptop, post cards, and a number of cable ties to complete the Mercedes-AMG experience. No you do not get a car when you buy the MSI Stealth 16 Mercedes-AMG Motorsport edition. Mercedes-Benz did not say anything about getting a free gaming laptop when you buy one of their AMG-line cars though. They also did not mention how much the laptop will be and when it will be available. If we have to guess, it will be expensive, and it should be available in the coming months. For more information on MSI’s latest products from Computex 2023, you can visit their website.

Razer Introduces the Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed with THX Certification

Razer’s Hammerhead series of headphones has been one of the go-to wireless earphones when it comes to mobile gaming. To be fair, while there are better sounding earphones out there, the Razer brand has made themselves known to be some of the best gaming brands in the world. It also does not hurt when the Razer Hammerhead line-up is some of the more decent sounding earphones on the market. There is room for improvement though and Razer delivers that in the Razer Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed they just introduced.

As the name suggests, it is made with their HyperSpeed technology that ensures an almost wired connection-like latencies. Again, the disadvantage to that is that the HyperSpeed technology relies on a proprietary 2.4GHz dongle that you need to connect to your devices like the PC, or smartphone. It is a USB Type-C dongle though, so you technically can use it with the likes of the Nintendo Switch. They claim a latency of less than 40ms with the HyperSpeed technology on this Hammerhead Pro.

  • Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed [2023] Render 01
  • Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed [2023] Pass through Charging
  • Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed [2023] Blow Up

While HyperSpeed technology is impressive, you are probably going to be using this pair of wireless earbuds with a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth. For that, it has Bluetooth 5.3, the latest standard in Bluetooth technology. That also allows the Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed to offer an impressive 60ms latency when connected via Bluetooth, just 20ms shy of HyperSpeed. If you are gaming mostly on your smartphone, you can start thinking about losing the cable with this one.

On top of the HyperSpeed dongle and Bluetooth 5.3 capabilities, the Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed is also capable of wireless charging. The fast-charging case that offers an additional 24 hours of listening time to the earbuds can be charged wirelessly with any wireless charging base you can find in the market. Or charge your device via USB Type-C, there is nothing ever wrong with wired charging in the first place.

It is a ‘Pro’ level item from Razer, so you can safely expect hybrid active noise cancelling to be a thing here. The Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed offers an array of microphones that act as noise cancelling feedback microphones for better sound cancelling and isolation. You can even adjust how much noise cancelling you want via a proprietary app. To keep you isolated and undisturbed while gaming, the Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed even offers a clever Do Not Disturb mode that silences all incoming Bluetooth notifications. The mode can also prevent calls and texts from coming through though, so you might want to have an apology message to go when your significant other cannot reach you.

Of course, the main thing about a wireless earphone should be its sound quality. The Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed is a THX certified gear. While it may not mean too much, since Razer technically owns THX and can slap THX branding on any of their products; the THX brand is still one of the most recognizable one in the audio industry, which also should mean that the Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed should sound great, and at least decent if not excellent. At the same time, the Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed cannot be a Razer product without Razer Chroma RGB and that is what these pair of earbuds have to offer. You can even control the RGB lighting with Razer’s app.

Price and Availability

The Razer Hammerhead Pro HyperSpeed is now available from Razer.com and all Razer’s authorised retailers across Malaysia, including their official online stores. There are no colour options for this one, just the black that is known for Razer’s most premium gears. It will set you back MYR 999, which is about MYR 100 less than Sony’s most premium wireless earbuds currently. More information on the new wireless earbuds can be found on their website.

[Computex 2023] Acer Expands the Predator Triton Line-Up with Predator Triton 16

What do you get when you cross a thin-and-light laptop concept and gaming laptops together? In Acer’s case, you get the Predator Triton line-up of gaming notebook PCs, their most premium gaming laptop line-up that is powerful enough to tear through time and space and remain portable enough to be operated anywhere and anytime. We are exaggerating on the whole time and space thing though, but you get the picture, Acer’s Predator Triton line-up is some of the most powerful gaming laptops you can find in the industry.

Recently, in their Next@Acer 2023 event, they launched the Predator Triton 14 gaming laptop and the Triton 17X portable desktop replacement. The Predator Triton 14 is made to be the perfect balance between portable productivity and top-notch gaming. On the other end of the spectrum for extreme performance portable workstation is the Triton 17X that packs Intel’s most powerful CPU and NVIDIA’s most powerful GPU packed into a body no thicker than a textbook. There was nothing in between though, nothing to fill the gap between the 17-inch powerhouse and 14-inch compact champion; until now.

The Predator Triton 16, as per the photos and renders provided, can be seen as the larger Predator Triton 14. That much is true, at least for how it looks. The Predator Triton 16 is a different beast altogether though.

Power, Power, Power

  • PREDATOR TRITON 16 PT16 51 03
  • PREDATOR TRITON 16 PT16 51 04

The Triton 16 comes packing a very powerful 13th Generation Intel Core i9 (up to) CPU that can clock up to 5.4GHz (turbo). The very powerful CPU is paired with NVIDIA’s potent GeForce RTX 4070 Max-Q GPU for mobile platforms with DLSS 3 and latest ray tracing capabilities. You also get 32GB (up to) of DDR5 RAM for good measure and to ensure that AAA games play as smooth as butter on the 16-inch display. There is also a 2TB (up to) SSD in RAID 0 configuration for the fastest access to your humungous game library.

True to its name, the Triton 16 has a 16-inch display. You get 2,560 by 1,600 pixels out of the 16:10 aspect ratio IPS panel with up to 240Hz refresh rate and NVIDIA G-SYNC support for that extra smooth feel to your games. In case you need to get working in brighter lit areas, the IPS display also offers up to 500 nits in peak brightness. For the content creators, the display also boasts an accurate and rich 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage and support for NVIDIA Advanced Optimus to save on some power when it can.

Keeping Cool

  • PREDATOR TRITON 16 PT16 51 01
  • PREDATOR TRITON 16 PT16 51 02

Of course, getting the most out of the high-resolution and speedy 16-inch display requires the CPU and GPU to work overtime. This also means that the internals can get hot very quickly if not cooled properly. That should not be too much of a problem for Predator’s proprietary 5th Generation AeroBlade 3D metal fans with their Vortex Flow technology though. On top of all of these, the thermals in the Predator Triton 16 should be a large improvement over previous generation laptops with the metal thermal grease on the CPU offering better heat dissipation and spread.

All of these are packaged into a metal chassis combination that measures less than 2cm (19.9mm). The silver finish of the chassis keeps the Predator Triton 16 looking clean and professional enough to fit into any board room.

Of course, this is an Acer Predator product. It comes with two extra buttons for easy access to Acer Predator’s magic to work on the Triton 16. You get a Turbo button that cleverly maxes out and overclocks the system as per Acer Predator’s optimum settings. There is also the PredatorSense button for you to quickly access, well, PredatorSense app. The app interface controls everything from the RGB of the laptop, to the maximum performance of the Predator Triton 16. WiFi comes in the form of an Intel Killer DoubleShot Pro WiFi 6E adapter built into the laptop for extra stable and fast connectivity experience. For expansion you can use the HDMI 2.1 port and a USB Type-C port with Thunderbolt 4 support to connect with up to two extra 4K displays.

Price and Availability

The Predator Triton 16 will be available in the North American regions in September 2023 onward for US$ 1,799.99 (MYR 8,295) onward. There are no colour options for this one, just the signature silver that has been the staple for Predator Triton laptops in the past couple of years. There is yet an announcement on the Acer Predator Triton’s availability in Malaysia at this point. Obviously, there are no official pricing just yet for the country. For more information on Acer Predator and their latest products announced in Computex 2023, you can visit their website.

AMD’s Radeon RX 7600 is Here! 1080p Gamers, Rejoice!

A few days ago, NVIDIA released their GeForce RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti to cater to gamers who are playing games on Full HD 1080p resolution. At US$ 299 (MYR 1,381*), they are still rather expensive to upgrade to. There are of course the benefits that come with an NVIDIA GPU like Ray Tracing engine, DLSS, and a myriad of support from NVIDIA. But what if US$ 299 is still a little rich for you? What if you want to spend a little bit less on your GPUs to get more bang out of the buck for your Full HD gaming rig? We offer you the AMD Radeon RX 7600.

Yes, this is the official replacement for the AMD Radeon RX 6600. Being a Radeon RX 7000 class GPU, the RX 7600 comes with RDNA 3 architecture as standard. That not only means improved GPU performance, but also improved ray tracing and upscaling (FidelityFX Super Resolution) engines. There is also an AI core in there somewhere that is not being utilized as of now, but that may come handy later. The new GPU also comes with AMD’s clever second-generation Infinity Cache technology that should prove useful in gaming and content creation situations.

It is designed to play games at Full HD, and better at that than the older GPU (obviously). At that, AMD claims a 29% performance bump over the Radeon RX 6600 on average. They also claim that the RX 7600 performs about 34% better than the older NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 8GB on average. With the new RDNA 3 architecture, they also claim that the GPU can push past 100fps in esports titles on Full HD resolution. You also have the advantage of AV1 support for better streaming experiences and DisplayPort 2.1 support for higher resolution displays. Then again, you might want to stick with Full HD resolution for this one.

At the heart of the AMD Radeon RX 7600 are 32 compute units with RDNA 3 technology. That is 4 compute units more than the older RX 6600 with RDNA 2. It still only comes with 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM, which they claim is enough for high-fidelity Full HD gaming and even upscaling to 1440p. The compute units are also clocked higher at 2.25GHz compared to the 2.04GHz from before. While that guarantees the bump in performance, it also means that the GPU draws more power than before at 165W TGP.

Price and Availability

The AMD Radeon RX 7600 is said to be available from AMD and their board partners today onward. AMD suggests a retail price of US$ 269 (MYR 1,243*) onward, but the prices will vary across manufacturers. Of course, you can expect manufacturers like ASUS and ASRock to come up with their “overclocked” versions of the GPU soon after. There are no indications on a 16GB variant anytime soon too, so if you are holding out for a 16GB AMD entry-level GPU, you might want to hold out a little bit longer for either their RX 7700 or RX 7800 to come out. More on AMD’s Radeon RX 7600 GPU can be found on their website.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti is Finally Here – Better Late Than Never!

NVIDIA launched their Ada Lovelave architecture technology last year with the rather humungous NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 flagship class GPUs. That brought high-end 4K and 8K gaming to the hands of consumers who could afford them. For the ones that could not, they had to be content with the existing NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series set-up. They had to settle for an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or RTX 3070, since the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 were still sold at incredibly high prices at the time. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti came rather late to the Ada Lovelace party, but it was still a welcome addition to the RTX 40 series line-up since that means that Ada Lovelace is becoming a little more accessible to normal people. The RTX 4070 Ti is still, by no means, a cheap or affordable GPU to start with though, for those looking to game on a budget, they still must go for NVIDIA’s outdated GeForce RTX 3060. Not anymore.

NVIDIA has just announced that the NVIDIDA GeForce RTX 4060 family is finally seeing the light. This includes the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti variant of the GPU. Alongside the announcement of the latest entry-level RTX 40 series GPU, NVIDIA announces that over 300 games now support DLSS 3 upscaling technology for better gaming performance at higher graphics quality.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060

The regular NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 comes with 3,072 CUDA cores that clocks in at 2.46 GHz, which is curiously less cores than the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 that came before it. The GPU is clocked higher than before though, and with Ada Lovelace architecture, should prove to be an improvement over the RTX 3060. Obviously, the GeForce RTX 4060 also comes with NVIDIA’s 3rd generation Ray Tracing cores that also supports DLSS 3.0 and 4th Generation Tensor cores that should prove to perform better than the older 60 class GPU.

The result is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 performing about 1.7x better than the RTX 3060 on average. While you only get the choice of an 8GB GDDR6 memory option, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 should be a better all-around performer for Full HD 1080p gaming natively. Of course, if you want even better performance and higher frame rates, you can upscale your games with DLSS 3.0.

You still can output the GPU to an 8K display at up to 60Hz with either HDMI 2.1 or DisplayPort 2.0 on the Founder’s Edition GPUs. Whether or not we will see a combination of HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.0 on partner boards is a guess. Still, it can power up to 4 monitors simultaneously if you need that kind of set-up. It is a 60 class GPU, and it is not meant for higher power consumptions, and therefore it only draws up to 115W in TGP.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti

For those who are looking to spend a little more on their GPU, but not RTX 4070 high, the RTX 4060 Ti should fit the bill nicely. It is technically more powerful than the RTX 4060. It also a large improvement over the GPU it replaces.

Again, Ada Lovelace architecture means that the new GeForce RTX 4060 Ti does not have to have larger amounts of CUDA cores within the GPU. It only has 4,352 CUDA cores over the 4,864 of the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. There is the 3rd Generation Ray Tracing cores and 4th Generation Tensor Cores too with AV1 support that is making the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti perform about 1.7x better than the old GPU it replaces. Like the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, the RTX 4060 Ti is designed to crush games even better at Full HD resolutions.

You can also drive up to 4 displays with the 4 output ports from the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti reference GPU. One of them would have to be plugged into the HDMI port, but it is HDMI 2.1 so you still can get 8K 60Hz output out from the GPU. Thanks to lower core counts, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti is more efficient than ever with up to 165W TGP over the older 200W even with 16GB of GDDR6 memory on board.

Price and Availability

There is no mention on whether NVIDIA will offer the GeForce RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti with GDDR6X memory or not. With GDDR6X being available for the older GeForce RTX 3060 and RTX 3060 Ti, we can assume that NVIDIA will be planning to bring the new 40 series entry-level GPUS with GDDR6X memory. For now, no other manufacturing partners have showcased their own version of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti GPUs. If you plan to get NVIDIA’s Founder’s Edition GeForce RTX 4060 GPU, prices start at US$ 299 (MYR 1,359*), which is not entirely unreasonable. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti starts at US$ 399 (MYR 1,813*) for the 8GB edition and the 16GB edition will set you back MYR US$ 499 (MYR 2,267*). More information on the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPUs can be found on their website.

ASUS Launches the ROG Phone 7 in Malaysia Priced from MYR 3,599!

ASUS launched their flagship smartphone, the ROG Phone 7 last month in April 2023. As promised, ASUS has brought the new flagship gaming smartphone into Malaysia. They are also available for purchase now as we speak; if you are interested, you can check out their roadshow happening now to the end of this weekend (14th of May 2023) at Pavilion Bukit Jalil.

To recap, the ROG Phone 7 comes in two variants, the regular vanilla ROG Phone 7, and one ROG Phone 7 Ultimate flavour. The vanilla ROG Phone 7 is still a powerful device packing Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 platform. You still get up to opt for up to 16GB in LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB in storage space if you do not mind spending a little bit more money.

ROG Phone 7 Ultimate 06

Whichever ROG Phone 7 series device you pick, it comes with a large 6.78-inch AMOLED display that offers Full HD+ resolution at 165Hz refresh rate and up to 720Hz in sampling rate for a smooth and near instant input feel. The AMOLED display also offers the best-in-class viewing experience with up to 1,500 nits in brightness and ΔE<1 colour accuracy. For the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate, you get an extra matrix display shooting visuals out of the back of the device (ROG Vision).

The ROG Phone 7 Ultimate also has a trick up its sleeve over the regular ROG Phone 7. You not only get the latest AeroActive Cooler active cooling solution and attachment for your ROG Phone 7 Ultimate, but the cooler also activates a flap they call the AeroActive Portal that will increase an airflow channel to allow for better cooling. The result is up to 20% thermal efficiency from the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate. That, alongside the Boron Nitride thermal compound, bigger vapor chamber,a graphite sheets on the CPU means that the CPU can be pushed to its limits for longer periods of time without compromising gaming performance.

Pokémon TCG Live Is Finally Ready for Primetime

Pokémon is on high octane with its current lineup of releases; the franchise is expecting its first expansion for its mainline games: Pokémon Scarlet and Violet in a few months. It seems like that’s not all, though, the new iteration of their Trading Card Game is poised for an official debut both digitally and physically.

Pokemon TCG Live Horizontal Key Art May 2023 png jpgcopy

Announced back in 2021, Pokémon TCG Live is finally ready for primetime. The game revamps the Pokémon Trading Card’s digital experience and brings it into the future. The Pokémon Company is updating the visuals and effects of the Pokémon Trading Card Game to come up to date with more experiences. At the same time, it is also retiring the original Pokémon Trading Card Game Online app.

That said, the Pokémon TCG Live has had a few hiccups in its rollout. It faced a delay back in 2021. However, the game did enter open beta in November 2022. Finally, the new app will be making its way out of beta and into the wild on June 8, 2023. The new app brings a whole new level of personalisation with a whole new experience with customizable avatars. TCG Live also brings attacks and moves to life in new ways. Players will also be able to digitize their physical cards with codes that come in physical booster packs. Those coming from the older app will be able to link their old account and bring their old card collections with some restrictions.

Pokémon TCG Live will be available together with the new expansion of the official trading card game – Scarlet & Violet – Paldea Evolved. The new expansion brings the new Pokémon from the latest region in the franchise, Paldea, to the card game. This means that Pokémon like box legendaries, Koraidon and Miraidon, will be making their official TCG debut.

Acer’s recently announced Predator Helios Neo 16 is now available in Malaysia – a mere two weeks after its international launch. The new addition to the Predator Helios lineup brings all the signature Helios performance and design ethos at an even more affordable price point. There will be two variants available in Malaysia. Both come with different specifications and cater for different gamers.

The first variant, the PHN16-71-54A6 comes with an Intel Core i5-13500HX and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX4050 with 6GB DDR6 VRAM and is complemented by 8GB of RAM and 512GB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD storage. The Predator Neo 16 gets even more power with the PHN16-71-77HU variant which brings the Intel Core i7-13700HX and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX4060 with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM. This is complemented by 16GB of RAM and 1TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD storage. Both versions support up to 32GB of RAM.

On the display end, both come with 16-inch displays with 100% coverage for the sRGB gamut, a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 165Hz refresh rate. The main difference between the two is the type of panel used. The i7 version comes with a WQXGA (2560 x 1600) panel with Acer’s ultra-slim design while the i5 version comes with a WUXGA (1920×1200) panel with the same design.

It goes without saying that both versions of the Predator Helios Neo 16 come with Intel’s Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX 1650i for the best WiFi connectivity for gaming. They also come with Killer Ethernet E2600. When it comes to ports, it comes with a complete array of HDMI, USB-C with Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2 Gen 2, 1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 and a combo audio jack.
