Navigating the online world while safeguarding personal information has become increasingly challenging. Mozilla’s response – Firefox Relay – has just received an upgrade that promises enhanced privacy protection in the digital realm.
In a bid to fortify online privacy, Mozilla has seamlessly integrated the Firefox Relay feature into the Firefox experience itself. Formerly an add-on, Relay acts as a protective barrier for users’ email addresses, shielding them from unsolicited marketing emails and potential data breaches. With this integration, users can conveniently utilize the Relay feature to safeguard their personal email addresses while navigating the web.
Acquiring this enhanced layer of online privacy is simple. Users need only possess a Firefox account to access the built-in Relay feature, available for free within the browser. Mozilla aims to make this feature available to millions of users over the upcoming weeks.
This integration lines up with Mozilla’s commitment to elevating the user experience by prioritizing privacy. The company introduced Firefox Relay functionalities earlier this year, allowing users to seamlessly interact with the tool through their toolbar, generate fresh email masks, and reuse existing ones. Notably, Relay ensures protection against web trackers, a significant step in preserving sensitive data.
For those unacquainted with Firefox Relay, it offers practical solutions for various online scenarios. Users can generate temporary email aliases to safeguard personal emails, benefiting from the service’s email filtering that eliminates trackers before forwarding messages to the primary email ID. Whether it’s crafting transient emails or maintaining confidentiality on public platforms, Firefox Relay empowers users to embrace a more secure online experience, now more conveniently accessible than ever.

Over the weekend, word started spreading that ASUS was in the process of downscaling its operations in Taiwan and Mainland China amidst a massive restructuring of the company. According to the report from TechNews Taiwan, the Zenfone department was an unfortunate casualty of the restructuring.
However, that doesn’t seem to be the case as ASUS has officially commented on the issue and denied it flat out. In fact, it would be fair to say the official statement rubbished the claims. The company reiterated its commitment to the phone business. It highlighted the recent Q2 earnings call as proof thereof. The recent earnings call showed a marked growth in their revenue from the mobile phone segment; growing from under 1% to around 2% in the past quarter. While it’s still a minute segment of their overall revenue, ASUS sees it as enough of a justification to continue. ASUS even teases its upcoming 2024 product lineup.
The statement, issued through the company’s official press room, is pretty clear and direct with the company’s direction when it comes to mobile phones. “We will continue our two main phone business product lines, the ROG Phone and the Zenfone.”. It’s pretty clear that ASUS will continue to push their ROG Phone and Zenfone lineups moving forward.
However, as mentioned in our previous article, Malaysia hasn’t seen a Zenfone launch since the Zenfone 5 series. On the other hand, the Zenfone 10 is poised for release in countries like the United States of America in the coming weeks. It’ll be a welcomed addition to have the Zenfone series be announced for the Malaysian market once again.
Occupop, a leading recruitment software provider for Small and medium businesses, has introduced a new feature in its software of the same name. The groundbreaking new feature – ‘ChatGPT Prompt Library for Recruitment’ – aims to enhance and incorporate AI adoption in talent acquisition. This is done by simplifying integration by eliminating the need for extensive prompt creation with ready-to-use prompts which allows users to deploy AI tools, boosting efficiency and effectiveness.
This novel resource is tailor-made for talent acquisition professionals seeking to streamline their recruitment and HR activities. This is done through AI-generated prompts which access a library of HR and recruitment resources. The library boasts a curated collection of over 100 prompts, sourced from experienced recruiters and hiring managers, offering a versatile toolkit for integrating AI seamlessly.
“We know the effectiveness of AI tools, including ChatGPT, hinges on the quality of prompts employed. However, crafting these prompts can be a resource-intensive task. With the ‘ChatGPT Prompt Library for Recruitment’, our intent is to encourage the talent acquisition community to embrace AI tools without the need for extensive prompt crafting. This enables the user to quickly familiarise themselves with AI tools and strengthen their future endeavours.”
Orla Doyle, Marketing Director at Occupop
This innovative platform equips hiring managers with an expert-approved resource, elevating their AI-powered recruitment strategies. The library covers diverse aspects such as hiring strategies, recruitment marketing, and candidate sourcing and assessment. The introduction of the ‘Ultimate ChatGPT Prompt Library for Recruitment’ signifies a milestone in the convergence of AI and recruitment.
The ASUS Zenfone series of smartphones hasn’t really been a mainstay in the tech market. In fact, Malaysia hasn’t seen a Zenfone release since the Zenfone 5. However, the series has been making waves in recent years thanks to ASUS’s dedication to making it a rather compact flagship. That said, it looks like ASUS might be ending the Zenfone altogether.
According to a report from Technews.tw, the company has already inched closer to ending the Zenfone lineup with some internal restructuring. The internal restructuring has resulted in layoffs in the mobile phone department effectively shutting down the Zenfone division. The same report indicates that the mobile phone department is split into two divisions – ROG Phone and Zenfone. It seems like the ROG Phone lineup should stay its course for now. However, if reports of the shutdown of the department shutdown and layoffs are true, the recent Zenfone 10 from ASUS could mark the last Zenfone flagship ever.
In its heyday, the Zenfone series had more than just its numbered entries. ASUS had the Zenfone GO as an affordable option as well as the Zenfone Max and Zenfone Live for those who wanted the larger screen and live streaming respectively. The numbered Zenfone series rounded out the series with higher-end, flagship-class specifications. It was also one of the most experimental series with ASUS introducing features like the flip camera in the Zenfone Flip.
The Zenfone series seems to be a casualty of the ongoing restructuring at ASUS which was first reported sometime in June. While we are optimistic the company will come out better on the other end of it, it’s hard to say whether the Zenfone series will be the last casualty.
Dropbox is taking a significant step by redefining its storage policy to address misuse and ensure its business sustainability. Dropbox joins tech giants like Google and Microsoft in adjusting its offerings and policies to maintain a balanced and reliable platform.
The revision comes in light of a small subset of users who have been engaging in activities such as cryptocurrency mining, unauthorized sharing, and reselling storage space. The main plan that’s been affected is Dropbox’s highest-tier plan which offered unlimited storage space and was originally tailored for businesses seeking growth. The misuse led to disproportionate resource consumption and instability. Moving forward, Dropbox is shifting towards a metered approach to ensure fair usage and resource sustainability.
New customers enrolling in the Dropbox Advanced plan will now receive an initial allocation of 15TB of storage. This storage capacity can house approximately 100 million documents or 7500 hours of HD video content. An extra 5TB of storage will be provided for each additional license added. The existing Advanced plan users who utilize less than 35TB per license will retain their current storage capacity. This covers about 99% of users using this plan. These users will also benefit from an additional 5TB for five years at no extra cost.
While this shift may seem unique to Dropbox, it mirrors a broader industry trend. Google, Apple, Amazon, and Microsoft have all reevaluated their cloud storage pricing, moving away from unlimited offerings. However, Box remains an outlier and still continues to promote unlimited storage for its enterprise solutions.
Dropbox’s decision reflects its commitment to offering a reliable experience for all users. By addressing misuse and adapting to industry trends, Dropbox continues to evolve as a key player in the cloud storage landscape.

Pricing & Availability
The Dell 24 Touch USB-C Hub Monitor is currently available in the Dell online store for MYR1,959 in Malaysia and USD$519.99 internationally.
Touch ‘n Go Digital (TNGD) is making the Touch ‘n Go eWallet even more feature-packed with a new partnership with Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB). The new partnership will bring ASNB’s fund management platform to Touch ‘n Go Wallet via GOinvest. The new partnership will complement the 9 unit trusts that are currently available on GOinvest.
The partnership brings ASNB investment management to users’ fingertips. Existing ASNB unitholders will be able to manage their investments without the need to physically visit a branch or agent. The ASNB dashboard on Touch n’ Go Wallet will enable users to check their portfolio performance and make new investments at any time. It also allows users to view a breakdown of ASNB’s units trusts, review their 5 latest transactions for each invested fund, subscribe to new funds and invest in current funds. Users will also be able to manage their dependent’s account on the dashboard.
New unitholders will be able to access the same dashboard after completing the online registration and onboarding process on the myASNB app. This separation is due to the need to use ASNB’s internal eKYC system for onboarding. However, once the process is completed, all future transactions and account management can be done on the Touch n’ Go eWallet app.
ASNB unit trusts are available to Malaysians from birth. Newborn accounts need to be opened in person over the counter or at any ASNB Kiosk while those 18 years or older simply need to do it online via the myASNB app. These unit trusts are categorised into two categories: Fixed Price Funds and Variable Price Funds. Touch ‘n Go eWallet will be offering 17 ASNB funds. These are:
ASNB investments on Touch n’ Go eWallet also makes investing even more accessible with a low initial investment of MYR10. To make things a little sweeter, TNGD and ASNB are running the Labur Online Laju (LOL) cashback campaign. Between 16 August 2023 and 30 September 2023, users who subscribe to ASNB Investments GOinvest on the eWallet will receive a cashback. Users who invest a minimum of MYR10 in any ASNB Unit Trust will receive an MYR1 cashback while those who invest more than MYR500 in any Variable Price fund will receive an additional MYR10 cashback.
If you’re interested to learn more in person, the LOL roadshow is happening at Setia City Mall from 16 until 20 August 2023. There will be booths and agents on the ground to help with opening an ASNB account. There will also be activities and freebies throughout.
There’s no denying that businesses that fail to engage with their customers are doomed to stagnate and eventually die. As a matter of fact, Meta reports that over 1B people are regularly engaging with businesses on Meta platforms. This number isn’t industry specific either, it covers over 55% of every industry.
Meta continues to innovate on its platforms to allow businesses to leverage them to drive business objectives. Platforms like WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook continue to be some of the most valuable touchpoints for businesses as it brings a mix of familiarity and proximity to both sides. It also allows businesses to leverage these aspects to build a persona and personality to better relate to its target audience. Recognising these factors, Meta has continually been innovating to allow businesses to leverage its platforms and the latest in technologies that complement them.
Leveraging AI to Ensure Platform Safety and Innovate to Empower Businesses
The latest to join the suite of tools is Artificial Intelligence. That’s not to say that Meta hasn’t used AI before. In fact, Facebook integrated AI into its timeline back in 2006. However, with the surge in interest when it comes to Generative AI, it is quickly becoming more apparent that we are indeed in AI 2.0.
Using the new advances in AI technology, Meta has quickly adapted to address newer trends and incorporate these advances to drive better results with less data. This also comes in the wake of a growing number of regions and countries clamping down on data privacy and security. The incorporation of Machine Learning algorithms and newer AI 2.0 advancements have led to 82% of hate speech being removed through automated means on platforms like Instagram and Facebook.
Meta is also implementing new algorithms that are created to use less data to deliver comparable or better results for businesses. To date, these algorithms have delivered a 20% increase in conversions for businesses leveraging them. With these algorithm’s working in the background, it falls to businesses to leverage them to drive business outcomes.
Business Messaging & Continuing the Customer Journey on Meta Platforms
As AI continues to become a deeply integrated factor for business continuity, we have to know and use the tools – paid or otherwise – that will not only allow for better outcomes but also help create a better customer experience.
Meta’s Business Suite and Ads Manager are continually being updated with tools that integrate AI technology to drive better business outcomes. One such tool is Meta’s Creative+ option which appears when you post content to your page. This feature allows you to test up to 4 different creatives to determine which delivers the best results.
Using features like this, businesses are able to extend their reach while keeping costs down. It also allows businesses to leverage the familiarity of the platforms to drive customer loyalty through business messaging. This comes in addition to AI-assisted product discovery with more broadly, AI-determined audiences for better conversions. AI-assisted determination also can help leverage behavioural data to optimise touchpoints based on customer behaviour.
This data can also be used to create chatbots that allow businesses to interact with customers more effectively. These chatbots can be built to suit the unique needs of businesses while still allowing for the flexibility for humans to jump in at any time.
Understanding Trends and Leveraging Them
One of the most important things to pay attention to is the trends that are emerging and continually shifting. These trends play a significant role in determining the combination of tools that will fit business needs. More importantly, it will also help determine the best approach for success on Meta’s platforms.
Meta shared a study on McDonald’s Malaysia leveraged the fact that there is an increasing number of users spending more time-consuming video content on Facebook and Instagram to be the driving force behind their recruitment campaign. Using reels available on Facebook and Instagram, the company was able to communicate the experience of being an employee at a McDonald’s outlet. Of course, the reels produced naturally embellished the experience with some fictional elements to generate interest and convey the business’s policies. This cornerstone content allowed McDonald’s to communicate directly to their target audience – Gen Z.
This falls in line with Meta’s own data which shows that more than 50% of time spent on Facebook and Instagram is spent consuming video content. This includes long-form videos, reels and even stories. In fact, reels may be the best touch point with over 200 Billion plays per day.
Meta’s Just Getting Started with AI 2.0 and Businesses Need to Start Leveraging It Now
It’s only the tip of the iceberg of how AI 2.0 will be impacting our world when it comes to creating consumer journeys, continuing Business Messaging and even creating content. Meta has already announced AI efforts like LLaMA which will no doubt factor into new tools that will come to its platforms in the future.
This will also entail businesses needing to deal with scams head-on hand in hand with regulators and companies like Meta. Meta is already working on identity verifications which will be more widely available to users as the year progresses. However, the company has yet to announce the same verification measures for businesses but we have it on good authority that it will be coming soon.
