In the recent update of Facebook, users will notice that the Graph Search has been updated to make it a whole lot easier for users to find their friends and some old post. But there’s was a piece of information that was omitted. Facebook has stopped the Bing search engine on its social website.
Back in 2013, Facebook launched their Graph Search to give users the ability to search for friends, pages and post related to their keyword from different websites. And this was all thanks to Bing search engine. But since Bing is out from Facebook, users only can get people, groups, pages and events only within Facebook’s network.
Both Facebook and Microsoft have discussed and confirmed the change awhile back ago. One of Facebook spokesperson mentioned that, “We are not currently showing web search results in Facebook Search because we’re focused on helping people find what’s been shared with them on Facebook. But we will continue to have a great partnership with Microsoft in lots of different areas.”
Well, its not something to be missed out by a great deal of users since it took at least a week to notice that the Bing results were missing. And not many users knows that Facebook can search things on the web. Let us know how do you feel about not being able to surf the net through Facebook?
