BenQ Brings Affordability to 4G devices
BenQ is not one of the names you immediately think about when you’re looking at the mobile industry. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be a force to reckon with. The taiwanese company is looking to make a big splash in the Malaysian market with the announcement of two 4G LTE devices at price points many others can’t meet – the devices are coming in at below MYR 800 (USD 232)!
The first device they announced is the BenQ F5, their front runner. The BenQ F5 comes with a 5-inch HD 720p IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720. The display comes with BenQ’s Low Blue Light Technology which is supposed to reduce the blue light from the display which can be harmful to your eyes. The device will be running on a 1.2 GHz Quad core Snapdragon 400 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage with microSD support. On the optics side of things, the BenQ F5 comes with a 13-MegaPixel f/2.2 camera with a front facing 2-MegaPixel camera. The camera boasts a 4X ultra sensitivity mode which is supposed to help with low light performance by providing better light capture from each pixel. The BenQ F5 will be powered by a 2, 520 mAh battery in a 143 x 72.8 x 8.5 mm body. It will come out of the box with Android 4.4.2 KitKat with a serving of the company’s Q Home UI.
The device will retail for MYR 699 (USD$) down MYR 100 from its original launch price of MYR 799.
Together with the F5, BenQ also launched the BenQ T3 which comes with a modest 4.5-inch quarterHD (qHD) IPS display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. The T3 also runs on the quad core Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 1GB of RAM and 4GB internal storage with microSD expansion. On the optics end, however, the T3 takes a little more of hit, coming with only an 8-MegaPixel sensor paired with a VGA front facing camera. All of this is powered with a 1,900 mAh batter in a 131.9 x 66.7 x 8.5 mm body.
The T3 will retail at MYR499 (USD$) also getting a MYR100 cut off its inital price of MYR 599 (USD$ ).
