First Amazon Web Services (AWS) Developer Day in Malaysia!
You are familiar with the name Amazon, that is no surprise. They are the largest online retailer in the world currently and they lead the field with quite an impressive margin. They made a name for themselves as the first of many websites to sell and champion e-books. That, at a time where people are still skeptical on reading books through a digital device.
If you do keep up with times, you probably would have heard also of Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amazon’s answer to cloud computing and enterprise scale digital solutions. If you have not heard of them though, all you need to know about them is that they provide a total cloud computing solution for their enterprise clients. Like plenty of digital enterprise solutions provider, they also utilise their own in-house built Artificial Intelligence algorithm to understand and provide relevant solutions to their clients.
Malaysia has time and time again been regarded as one of the key digital hubs in South East Asia. Of course with the sort of growth that Malaysia has experienced in terms of digital transformations in the past year seem to support that claim. Large players in digital cloud services and solution providers are also making waves in the region. Of course, Amazon as one of the biggest players in cloud computing solutions would not want to miss out in the region as well.
That is why they held their first ever Developers Day in Malaysia last week. In collaboration with Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) AWS Developers Day aims to equip local businesses with the right tools and skills that is required of today’s ever-changing technological landscape. Over 170 attendees from the likes of large enterprises and start-ups turn up to the full-day speaking and workshop event held in Kuala Lumpur, the heart of Malaysia.
Of course the workshops and talks conducted was to educate the attendees on the services provided by AWS and how they can benefit from the system. More importantly however it gave the attendees an understanding of the changing business landscapes and why it was important for them to transform themselves digitally. The AWS Developer Day helped them understand how AWS could help them configure and refine projects for development, sharing and analysing cloud data, and of course manage corporate resources. Of course they had some help from the AWS architects when it comes to practice and implementation.
The AWS Developer Day, held in collaboration with MDEC was held on the 8th September 2017. Photos and press release after the break.
