ASUS’ Zenfone 4 series of devices was launched late last year with the flagship Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 4 Pro taking centerstage. That said, there were other variants launched alongside the flagships including the Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro and the Zenfone 4 Max Pro. Each of these variants brought something different to the table and catered to different price points ranging from RM799 to RM2000.
The Zenfone 4 Max (ZC520KL) is one which caters to the sub-RM1,000 price point. That said, the device doesn’t comprise much on specifications. The Zenfone 4 Max comes with a very capable 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 425 clocked at 1.4GHz. This is supported by 3GB on RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. Memory can be increased by up to 256GB of additional memory with the dedicated microSD card slot.
The Zenfone 4 Max comes wtih a 5.2-inch HD 720p IPS LCD display which has a pixel density of 282 pixels per inch (ppi). The cameras on the Max are a dual 13-megapixel and 5-Megapixel setup for the main sensor as well as an 8-megapixel selfie camera with LED Flash. It also comes with a front mounted fingerprint sensor aswell as support for WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.1 and Low Energy (LE). The main selling point of the Max is it’s 4,100mAh battery which can power through any given day with some charge left when you’re done.
The device initially launched at RM799 (USD$199.27) but will be retailing with an RM100 price cut as of 1st January 2018. So, you’ll be able to get your hands on device for only retail at RM699 (USD$174.33). You can check out our review of the Zenfone 4 Max Pro for a little bit of a better idea of what the device is capable of. But do keep in mind that the Max Pro does come with slightly better specifications.
