ASUS took centre stage in Taiwan a little over two months ago to announce a bevvy of new devices. The main event was, of course, the launch of their new flagship line up of smartphones under the Zenfone 4 moniker. It wasn’t long after the launch that we saw the Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro and the Zenfone 4 Max Pro launch in Malaysia with some very attractive price points and compelling features. Be that as it may, the flagship Zenfone 4 has yet to arrive on Malaysian shores…. until now.
The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. It also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection. The Zenfone 4 runs on the 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 and has 6GB of RAM. It also has 64GB of internal storage. This can be supplemented by up to 2TB with a microSD card.
The hallmark feature of the Zenfone 4 is the inclusion of dual camera technology. It comes with a primary 12-megapixel sensor setup with a f/1.8 aperture, phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and a secondary 8-megapixel wide angle sensor with 120° viewing angle and auto focus. It also comes with a dual-tone LED. On the selfie front, the Zenfone 4 comes with a single 8-megapixel sensor.
The phone is powered by a 3,300mAh battery which promises at least day-long endurance. It is also Quick Charge 3.0 certified and comes with a reversible USB Type-C connector. The device also comes with a glass front and back that lends to its premium feel.
The Zenfone 4 will be retailing for RM2,099. You can get your hands on it through official retailers nationwide or through the official ASUS store on LAZADA. Psst… if you didn’t already know, Gong Yoo is their official device ambassador. You can get the black version he’s holding in the picture.
