ASUS has announced the ZenFone 2 back in January during CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2015. During its announcement, there were 2 strong features that we took notice of. First is the low starting price – it starts from as low as US$200 (MYR732)! And the other, is that it has an option for a phone with 4GB or RAM.
Of course, those two features are of different devices. The cheaper priced model will have half the RAM, of which is 2GB RAM only. The one with 4GB of RAM has no price being quoted when they were announced.
Now, it seems like both phones are available for sale in Taiwan. The ZenFone 2 with the lowest price offers for about US$160 (MYR585). The phone will be packed with Intel Atom Z2560 SoC dual core, with a 5.0 inched 720p display, and of course, 2GB of RAM. Sounds like a good deal to me.
Another version is sold at US$190 (MYR695). With this price, you get an update to quad-core Atom Z3580 SoC.
There are 1080p versions as well, with 5.5-inch display, 2GB of RAM, 32GB storage, and Atom Z3580 SoC which is sold at US$220 (MYR804).
The highest end would be ZenFone 2 that has 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, Atom Z3580, and 5.5-inch 1080p display, This one will be sold for US$290 (MYR1060).
With the specs, I think all puchases will be justified and it’s a deal that is well worth your spending. Now, we just need Asus to release the international sales plans for these devices and then it will be good to go.
