Ultrabooks are usually super thin and super light. They are a sight to behold, very pretty things to look at because of the striking thickness; the lack of that is. They are impressive too with the kinds of power they come with these days.
The only issue is that with that kind of thin and light packaging is their durability. No, we are not talking about the amount of years the notebook will serve you. We are talking about the amount of beating they can take.
This is important. The whole reason for having a notebook as small as an ultrabook is to bring it around, to travel with it, to work with it anywhere in the world. Of course, that notebook PCs will take a beating when you stuff it in your luggage bag, pull it out to throw it on your bed, chuck it on your work desk, or even the coffee table for presentations or other work. Of course it needs to be able to take a beating, a workhorse.
That is what the ASUS VivoBook Ultra K403 is built to do; it is built to take a lot of beating. It is built for the road warriors, the traveling professionals, or students. Why not students?
To ensure that it can handle anything that gets thrown at it, literary, ASUS built to to MIL-STD-810G military standards. That means that you can drop it from a significant height and take some spillage and even dusty environments. It can handle quite extreme temperatures when you find yourself in a tropical island.
Military standards and durability does not mean that it is heavy though. It weighs just 1.3kg even when it has a large 72Wh battery that is touted to last up to 24 hours on a single charge. It also packs a 14-inch Full HD display with NanoEdge display to ensure full immersion from the ample amount of 512GB of storage space.
It still packs up to an Intel 8th generation Core i5 processor. Supported by an Intel HD Graphics 620 integrated graphics, it is not what you would call slow. You still get a 14-inch Full HD display too with the ASUS VivoBook Ultra K403.
The ASUS VivoBook Ultra K403 is available now from ASUS’ authorised retailers and resellers nationwide. The new military grade ultrabook from ASUS will be offered in two flavours. When we say flavours, more like two different specs in terms of processor. The Core i3 version will set you back MYR 3,699. The more powerful Core i5 will set you back MYR 3,299.
