Apple’s A9 Chips coming from Samsung
It is official. According to Maeil Business, a South Korean newspaper, Samsung will the main supplier of the A9 chips for Apple that will be powering the next generation of iPhones. Samsung is set to supply up to 75% of the chips for the Cupertino company. The A9 chips will be produced at Samsung’s factory in Austin, Texas.
According to previous reports, Samsung had already started working on the processors last month. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) should be supplying the remaining 25% of the chips. This is line with rumors that Apple would be relying more on Samsung for the iPhone 6 and Apple Watch components.
The A9 chip is going to be the heart of the iPhone 6S as well as the next generation iPad Air and iPad Mini.
