Apple has updated its Apple Watch website to reveal more of the functionality of the gadget. The main features that the website highlights are time keeping, ways to connect and of course, health and fitness. Time keeping wise, the Apple Watch will allow users to connect to calendar on their iPhone to ensure their time is managed efficiently and in a more effective way. New ways to connect looks to the capabilities of the Apple Watch to send taps, messages and phone calls especially calls directed to the gadget from the iPhone. The gadget is also filled with sensors that will make it a full fitness device. So, as much as all these features sound fantastic, one thing is for sure – you need an iPhone to own an Apple Watch.
In other news, rumor has it the tech giant is recruiting retail employees with a fashion and luxury background to work in its stores. With amount of customization and personal touch you can bring to the gadget, it makes some sense. Apple Watch comes with an array of watch faces, straps and different materials. So, with so many choices, you need the right retail staff with the appropriate amount of experience to help customers make a well informed and right choice especially since it’s a whole lot of money. With this in mind, the correct staff would also enhance customer personal interactions and give the nice shopping experience most, if not all, Apple consumers crave for.
For the last bit of the update, according United Daily News from Taiwan, Apple’s supply partner Quanta Computer is gearing up to enter mass production of the Apple Watch next month as yield issues with the components used in the gadget have been ironed out. Quanta has increased manpower from 2000 to 10,000 and is expecting to hiring 20,000 more to help with the production of the wearable. We were expecting to see the device only in the 2nd quarter of next year but with most of the problems solved with the production of the gadget, we might just see the tech tycoon make an early 2015 release. The Apple Watch will cost any purchaser a minimum of USD$349 (MYR 1220). Depending on the type of watch you choose, the straps and so on, the price will vary upwards.
