The new year is here and Apple Pay had so many expansion plans in the United Kingdom but it seems that the Cupertino tech tycoon has hit a few snags with international expansion plans.
According to report by The Telegraph, at least one major British bank has issues with the terms of Apple Pay and also, how the tech giant is looking to deal with customer information. Some banks are concerned that with the new mobile payment system, it would threaten the banking industry.
According to Apple, the company cannot track purchases to specific shoppers through Apple Pay so privacy might not be the problematic term the banks are talking about. Apple was looking to make London its first point of expansion and plans were to launch the system in the first half of the new year.
