Bloomberg has reported that production of the next generation iPad Air and Retina iPad mini is all set and ready to begin. The 9.7 inch iPad Air 2 will debut towards the end of the third quarter or beginning of the fourth quarter. The 7.9 inch Retina iPad mini will see its production start soon enough.
With the production of both devices set to begin in August, we’re looking at a fall launch event for both. An October release will be ideal since it will follow Apple’s September 9th iPhone 6 event.
The Apple iPad Air 2 has seen some manufacturing issues with the new anti-reflection coating. This problem will most probably result in a restriction in supply availability of the product. The coating was added to the display screen to ease reading on the device.
Both the iPads will feature form factors which will most probably be similar to what we’re already seeing on Apple gadgets. However, the iPad Air may have some tiny modifications such as a spanking new speaker grille and a slightly recessed set of volume buttons. The device will also receive an improved 8 megapixel camera!
The gadgets will in addition, be equipped with a faster and more efficient upgraded A8 processors as well as Touch ID fingerprint sensors.
