A new report is claiming that Apple is looking to make Beats Music a huge competitor in its industry by taking on Spotify and other music streaming apps like Google Play All Access. And how is it going to make a huge impact? By cutting the price of the app. Yup, no more ten-dollars-a-month for music anymore!
Apple is currently in talk with labels to plan what needs to be done for this to become a reality. A more affordable pricing will be a new turf for Apple. The tech tycoon hasn’t been one to actually care much about competing on price points. It was always about being accessible and polished. Maybe Apple finally realized that when it comes to music, the competition is on an all time high so it needs to earn its market share a little differently in this industry.
However, what could this say about iTunes which is Apple’s other baby in the same industry? Is Apple refocusing its energies on Beats Music instead? We’re hoping to see the Beats Music early next year and only then will we know what Apple’s strategy is going to be when balancing both iTunes Radio and Beat Music.
