A new patent document has surfaced and reveals that Apple is looking to include flexible displays in its next product. And it seems that the Cupertino tech giant is looking to add more than strength with the inclusion of the flexible displays.
The patent is known as the “Electronic Devices with Flexible Displays” and the document illustrates a flexible display that will be included under a main panel. With the display under this supposed glass panel, any user will be able to interact with the flexible display. Apple has big plans with this display – it might just be a speaker which includes tactile feedback, this is of course, something we have yet to see in the industry.
According to the patent, “a portion of the flexible display may serve as a membrane that forms part of a microphone, speaker, pressure sensor, or other electronic component.” Will this be a technology that heightens the home button of the next iPhone? Or is Apple thinking too much out of the box?
