It seems that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company looks to ramp up its productions for the Touch ID sensors that will be fitted in the new Apple iPhone 6, iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3. TSMC is also the previous manufacturer and supplier for the Touch ID sensor on the previous Apple iPhone 5s. Other than that they actually plan a change of material use on the sensor as well. What the manufacturer wants to do is to use tin to make the sensor more durable in the next iterations of iOS devices.
The Touch ID sensor in the Apple iPhone 5s only supports the use of fingerprint to unlock your devices. It is reported that on the new range of iOS devices fitted with the Touch ID sensor would do a lot more with your fingerprint for example; mobile payments.
