It’s miracle. Within this tech industry, you are definitely going to have huge companies going at each other especially when it comes to patents. In the past few years especially, the rivalry between the American company, Apple and the South Korean typhoon, Samsung have been heating up. Both have brought each other to court so many times that most of us have lost count. But a miracle might just happen.
It seems that Apple and Samsung may actually be agreeing on certain issues. They are seeing eye to eye enough that a settlement deal may be set in place. Although this may be far from being over, it seems that it is more or less heading in that direction. Sources say that the companies are fed up of arguing and bickering over secondary points and are ready for peace. I think, we are too. Focus has been reportedly on what needs to be done for a practical solution to come about. I’m sure that both are finally realizing that so much money is being spent on things that might not matter to a certain extent.
This follows the companies putting aside cross appeals against each other regarding touchscreen and headset technologies. Also, it seems that Apple may want to keep the relationship a healthy one as it enters the wearables industry especially with regards to the iWatch and starts eyeing OLED screens which Samsung is capable of producing.
Although everyone would love to see these two just live along side in each other with some form of peace and understanding, we need to keep in mind that these patent wars span over years and years. It is not that easy to just resolve old and new issues that go way back. It’s going to take a lot of effort and tolerance from both sides but they can build a good competitor friendship. Don’t be surprised however, if this all goes down the drain later on and the dogs start barking in the courts again.
