Android One Launches this October
Every tech savvy person knows that one of the biggest events of the year was the Google I/O Conference. One of the biggest announcements made by Google was the Android One initiative.
The Android One project by Google aims to bring affordable and good quality Nexus class devices directly supported by Google to the wider market at price points below $100 (RM 330) similar to Motorola’s Moto E.
A report from India has shed some light on expected release dates of Android One devices in the fall. The report gives a more precise window and details into the company’s strategy for the project.
With the details of the report, dates have been pinpointed to October this year. The first Android One hardware is to arrive in the Bollywood country in expectation to the Deepavali festival which is later in the month. We’re expecting more launches to surface after India in other emerging markets such as Indonesia and Philippines.
It has also been reported that Google will be spending near to $17 million on the advertising of the Android One project. The Android One initiative will hopefully assist in bumping feature phone users into Android users.
