Updates have been rolling out to various devices for an upgrade to Android Lollipop 5.0 this week. We’re all excited to receive the latest version of Android and be up to date.
Well, if this was how you were feeling, we’re sorry but we might need to burst your bubble. At a recent developers events in Netherlands, reps from Google made a presentation referring to an upgrade of the current Lollipop – Android Lollipop MR1 running on a Nexus 5.
The MR1 basically is Lollipop 5.1. It would be the first maintanence release for Lollipop. The updates should be bringing the already impressive OS to a higher level. Usually when Google does this, or any company for that matter, it means that the tech company spotted some bugs and flaws and want to fix it as soon as possible. This ensures consumer experience is at the forefront at all times.
There has been however, no comment from Google on an official 5.1 but of course, it would be expected that the company is continuously working on releasing better versions of Android. There is yet to be any speculation on a roll out date if the 5.1 does arrive. For now, let’s just enjoy the 5.0 since we did just get our hands on it!
