That said, being at the top isn’t stopping Acer from forging ahead in producing affordable systems with commendable performance. This year, at their [email protected] event in New York, the company announced a slew of refreshed products which will are uniquely Acer with “innovation in their DNA”.
Less is More with the New Acer Swift 5
The Acer Swift 5 has been the company’s flagship thin and light laptop. The laptop comes in at under 1kg or 2.2lbs. It’s premium magnesium-lithium build gives the Swift 5 its signature feel and look.
The overall footprint of the new Swift 5 remains largely similar to Swift 5 of yesteryear. However, the biggest difference comes in the larger display. Thanks to the slimmer bezels, which come in at only 5.87mm, the new Swift 5 comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD 1080p IPS display. The larger display covers 87.6% of the laptops body.
Speedy Performance with Acer’s Nitro Line Up
Acer’s prowess in building gaming focused PCs is becoming more honed with every iteration of their Nitro and Predator series. The Nitro series has been bolstered by uncompromising hardware over the past year. That power continues this year.
Acer unveiled the Nitro 50 series of desktop PCs which are going to pack a punch when it comes to performance. The desktops will be able to handle any graphical challenge thrown at it with the maximum specifications of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX1070. The 8th generation Inte Core i processors will also allow great performance in minneal tasks.
Also part of the Nitro line up are gaming monitors that allow gamers to express themselves while getting world class visuals with AMD Free Sync technology. The higher range VG0 brings 4K UHD resolution to the table while its smaller RG0 brings Full HD 1080p resolution.
Acer Predator Orion Gaming Desktops bring powerful performance with insane insides
Acer’s Predator series leads the company’s gaming arsenal with top of the line specifications and peripherals. The new series of desktops brings more than just performance – they bring future expandability.
Catering to a wide range of gamers, the Predator Orion desktops come with the Intel Core i+ series of processors allowing them to plow through any task. Complemented with NVIDIA’s GeForce graphics cards, the desktops are built for their graphical prowess and comes with up to 2-way NVIDIA GeForce GTX1080 Ti in SLI.
Every gamer needs perihperhals and with the Predator series, the company completes its offerings with a wide selection; from gaming chairs to hard cases to mousepads.
Banking on Chromebooks for further growth
Acer has also become one of the foremost manufacturers when it comes to Google’s Chromebook platform. In fact, they are arguably the only manufacturer to produce a premium line up of chromebooks which are available in the mass market – including Malaysia.
This year the company bolsters their Spin series of laptops with the Chromebook platform. The Spin series brings multimode functionality and wacom’s stylus technology which empowers creatives. Equipped with the mid and high end Core i processors, the new Spin 13 and 15 Chromebooks will be able to cater to basic computing needs and then some.
